President's three guiding principles & Native American Church of Virginia's responses: 1. Be humble. “We don’t have the right to claim that we have done anything on our own. God gives us what it takes to do all that we do,” – 2 Cor 3:1-5 2. Uphold the distinction between faith and government, between church and state. The Native Way is a view of life that, by virtue of being created by the One Creator, we are all related. We are all creatures of creation. We communicate and have relationship with Creator God the way we are led to. Those who violate this God given truth or “way of being” violate a basic unalienable right of humanity. It is a God given appointment for each man (humankind) to seek Creator God. God is calling man unto himself and not man calling man unto God. And this divine appointment is a “God-given natural, unalienable right.” We are all created in this world. We are “born within” “Mother Earth.” Are we not all indigenous to earth, therefore being related or of one another? The words I speak are not just for those labeled as Indigenous, but for all mankind, the Indigenous to Earth," shared Chris (Comewithclouds) White, CEO Native American Church of Virginia. | The White House's Full Story The Dalai Lama joined President Obama with this year's prayer breakfast yesterday. 3. Treat others as we want to be treated. "Jesus said, “the kingdom of God is within” (me or within you). The idea that by loving your neighbor and loving creation as if it is yourself, then the kingdom of God will arise within me or you. Heaven is a promise that arises from being related, being one. Not a destination to be hoped for. Join us in not looking at how we are different, but speaking a new message, a new language and creating a new possibility, which is an old message of how we are alike. We are all related. Jesus and God are one, we are one in Jesus Christ, through Jesus Christ we are one with God," added Chris (Comewithclouds) White, CEO Native American Church of Virginia. |
